Today I want to tell you about the topic of a support group meeting. The subjects were family unity, support and the caregivers role. It is extremely difficult for a spouse or a child to deal with the care of a loved one. The emotional and finanicial stress are changing their life and the caregiver needs all the help and understanding the family can give. Keep in touch, help out with doctor's appointments, the shopping, etc. But best of all give the caregiver the afternoon off. A caregiver will manage better and experience less stress when they are supported by the family.
Alzheimers disease and dementia can be so devistating that the whole family must pull together and support each other. If you would like information on one of the several support groups in the area please give me a call or log on to our web site, ALZNET.COM.
